Programs and Services For Seniors and Caregivers
Senior Transportation Program - Stanislaus
Catholic Charities Senior Transportation Service is here to serve Stanislaus county residents age 60 and older who need assistance getting to and from medical appointments. Our service is one of several critical services which aim to assist people to maintain their independence at home. Our transportation coordinator will assist callers by reviewing with them their needs and how best to meet them. When appropriate, we will assist seniors in navigating the public transportation system. When needs cannot be met through public transit, our program is here to serve! The Catholic Charities transportation service is especially helpful for those who live in rural areas not served by public transit, or who do not live in the same community as their medical provider.
Volunteer and paid drivers assist clients with door to door service. Rides are provided in Catholic Charities’ vans or private vehicles. One of our vans is equipped with a wheelchair lift for clients who are unable to transfer. Rides are scheduled at least one week in advance.
The transportation program is funded through grants, contracts, and donations. While there is no set fee for riders, donations are always welcomed.
While medical appointments are always our first priority, we also assist seniors who need rides for grocery shopping.
Whether you have a one-time or on-going need or know someone who can benefit from our services, it will be our pleasure to explain our services more fully. If we are not able to assist you, we may be able to help you locate other community resources that can.
Our assisted transportation services are offered in a protected, caring and dependable environment. With this in mind, we encourage your inquiry concerning your transportation needs.
